Fall Cooking with Falk: Fig Clafoutis
Fig Clafoutis
1 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
5 whole eggs
2 cups milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon butter
4 very ripe figs or 2 cups of another fruit
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 375. In a blender mix flour, sugar, eggs, milk, salt and vanilla.
Coat the inside of the whole pan with cold butter.
Cut figs into quarters and lay into the buttered pan. Pour batter over the fruit and bake for 40-50 minutes, until puffed up and golden brown.
Remove from oven and let cool for at least five minutes. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
