Friday Favorites
The kids left yesterday to spend the weekend with my parents. Immediately after dropping them off we went out to one of our favorite breweries in the area and grabbed a bite and a drink. Feeling excited about the weekend and all the activity possibilities of adult time. But I woke up to a very quiet house, where after about 5 minutes of peace, I missed my kids dearly. It's funny how that happens as a parent. You beg for some alone adult time and then you get it, and you realize, this crazy life of yours is exactly what you want. And you wouldn't change anything for it. My kids drive me crazy, daily. But they are mine, and my world is not the same when they are gone.
So, I will keep myself busy with work, catching up on tv shows, and reading a stack of new cookbooks that I received. I am absolutely obsessed with Kimberley Hasselbrink's new book, Vibrant Food. It is stunning, inside and out. Also on my night stand is, Delancey by Molly Wizenberg, The Vibrant Table by Anya Kassoff and Vegetable Literacy by Deborah Madison. This, has been on my wish list for quite some time. So here is to sleeping in, reading, and a few cocktails.
