Last week, I was invited to come have lunch at pFriem Family Brewers in Hood River, Oregon. This was not my first visit to the brewery. Normally I am coming in with my hungry kids, looking for a quick bite, or meeting up with a friend for a few beers. This time I was able to sit down, enjoy the view of the river, try their beer sampler and eat lots of good food.

Living in the Pacific Northwest, it feels like there is always a new brewery opening up. Some good, some not so good. But even though there is a brewery on every block in some parts (I'm talking to you Portland), the majority of them serve simply, mediocre food. Which is why I love having a brewery like pFriem in town, one that has a menu that is just as impressive as their beer list.

To begin my lunch, I started with the beer sampler. Some of my favorites include, Wit, Belgian Strong Blonde and the Dunkel Weizen (Jake always goes for the IPA or the Double IPA). Next up were these hand cut french fries with whole grain mustard aioli. This my friends, were some of the best fries and sauce I have ever had. And I am a fry girl. These, were perfect!

I then went a little crazy and also ordered the Mussels and Fries alongside the Radicchio Salad. The mussels came with fennel, garlic, Wit, and saffron cream. Needless to say, these mussels were amazing and a complete meal on their own. But I have to say, out of all of the food that I ate (and really, those fries are hard to beat), the radicchio salad with green goddess dressing, bacon, croutons, avocado and manchego was one of the best salads I have ever eaten, hands down. I have spent the past week trying to think of how to recreate this salad at home, I cannot get it out of my head. Go here, eat this salad, you will love it.

Just when I thought I couldn't eat anymore, the good people at pFriem brought out this incredible burger. Local grass-fed beef, grilled sweet onion, white cheddar, mustard aioli and crunchy dill pickles. And do you see that bun? That bun alone was worth my trip in.

I clearly had a lovely time, with great food and amazing beer. Every sip and bite was absolutely delicious. Thank you pFriem for an awesome lunch, I will see you soon.
