Infused Finishing Salts, for Verily Magazine
Have you guys started planning for the holidays? I have to admit, I have. This year we are hosting Thanksgiving at our house in the woods. I am beyond thrilled and slightly nervous. So while I should be planning the turkey, dressing, pies, I am instead planning the cocktails, appetizers and table decorations. The important stuff. Besides the overwhelming family stress of the holidays, it is simply, my favorite time of year. And every holiday season I try to come up a with a few different easy DIYs that I can do for hostess gifts. Last year it was curry ketchup, homemade raviolis, and peppermint marshmallow hot chocolate kits. This year, I am planning on making cocktail kits (think little bottles of alcohol with flavored simple syrups), which I am clearly thrilled about! And then, my ever so favorite, infused finishing salts. Which are not only really easy and simple to make, they turn out beautifully, making quite the little gift. I recently shared my 4 favorite recipes on Verily Magazine. Where I infused salt in greek olives, pinot noir, fig + lemons, and grapefruit with rosemary. Using finishing salts is a great way to add both complexity and depth to your recipe. Try rimming your cocktail glass with the salt, or sprinkle the pinot noir infused salt over vanilla ice cream and brownies. It's absolutely perfect. You can find the full recipe here. Enjoy! xoxo
